Welcome to the biography page for our Cookeville OBGYN professionals.

Michael Stephen Pippin, M. D.

Originally a native of Cookeville, Tennessee, Dr. Pippin received his education both at Tennessee Tech University and at the University of Tennessee, graduation from the University of Tennessee’s School of Medicine. His postgraduate studies include internship and residency through the city of Memphis Hospital/University of Tennessee medical system in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Pippin completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology and was board certified in obstetrics and gynecology in 1987. Ongoing maintenance of certification has continued with the most recent recertification in obstetrics and gynecology in 2015. He practiced for a number of years in Nashville, Tennessee but then chose to come to his hometown in 1992 when the opportunity arose. Dr. Pippin has been practicing continuously with Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates from 1992 to the present.

Dr. Pippin has served as a consultant at the Rape and Sexual Assault Center through Genesis House. He practices a full range of obstetrics and gynecology. Most recently he has received certification in the performance of Robotic Gynecologic Surgery. Dr. Pippin has a special interest in infertility evaluation.

His wife Stephenie, is a Registered Nurse, who is originally from Illinois but loves to call Cookeville her home. Dr. Pippin and his wife have four children age 19-31. He and his wife enjoy outdoor sports activities, water sports activities and travel. Much of their leisure time still centers around their children. Stephenie enjoys aesthetic practice such as laser hair removal, Botox administration and use of fillers. She is a partner in her own business Skin Deep.

Paige R. Gernt, M. D.

Dr. Gernt received her MD from the University of Tennessee, Memphis Tn. in 1996. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC in 2000 where she served as Chief Resident in 2000. Dr. Gernt is a fellow with the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a member of the North American Menopausal Society, THEGOS Society and Alpha Honor Society. She is a University of Tennessee Cannon Scholar and received board certification in obstetrics and gynecology in2002. Most recently, she received certification in the performance of da Vinci robotic surgery. She has served on numerous committees at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was Chief of Surgery, Vice Chief of Staff and now serves on the Surgery Quality Committee. Dr. Gernt is Perinatal Committee Chairman.

Dr. Gernt offers a wide array of services including obstetrics, office gynecology, GYN surgery and infertility work up.

Christine K. Pham, M. D.

Christine K. Pham, M. D. joined OB/GYN Associates in 2010 after two years of a private practice in Pennsylvania. A board certified physician, she offers a full range of obstetric and gynecological services including minimally invasive surgery that shortens hospital stay, postoperative pain and missed days at work. Dr. Pham also performs in-office procedures and provides adolescent care, fertility evaluation, routine gynecologic care and high risk obstetrics.

Dr. Pham received her Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Medical Degree from the University of Missouri- Kansas City. She completed her residency training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia in 2008.

Dr. Pham, her husband and their dog are happy to have made Cookeville their home and enjoy the Upper Cumberland area.

Michael Cole, M. D.

Michael Cole, M. D. a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, has joined OB/GYN Associates with fellow physician Michael Pippin, M. D., Paige Gernt, M. D., and Christine Pham, M. D. in their practice at 317 North Hickory in Cookeville.

Dr. Cole is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Cole received his medical degree in 2004 from the University of Tennessee, College of Medicine in Memphis. He did his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He has been practicing in Cookeville since 2012 and provides a broad scope of women’s healthcare encompassing a full range of obstetrical gynecological services. He also routinely preforms cutting edge minimally invasive surgery including robotic surgery.

Dr. Cole and his wife have two children. He is pleased to be in the Upper Cumberland region and looks forward to serving the medical needs of our community.

Jessica Lay, W.H.N.P.

Jessica Horton Lay is a nurse practitioner with specialized training in women’s health. A Cookeville local, she joined OB/GYN Associates in the Fall of 2007. Jessica received her undergraduate degree from Tennessee Technological University in May 2001. She then gained several years of valuable experience as a hospital based obstetrical nurse before beginning graduate school. She continues to work at CRMC in the obstetrical department, as she has since 2000. In 2005, she earned a Masters Degree in Nursing from UT Knoxville. Jessica is board certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner by the National Certification Corporation (NCC). Her professional memberships include: Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi. In addition to clinical expertise in obstetrics and gynecology, she also has special training in urodynamics testing. She has many interests including kayaking and running.

Amanda Robin Bell, C.N.M.

Robin completed her nursing education at Motlow State Community College and her Midwifery and MSN education at the University of Cincinnati in 2008. Prior to joining the team at OB/GYN Associates, Robin provided care for women and families of the McMinnville and Cookeville areas.

Robin enjoys meeting new people and helping families in pursuit of fulfilling their birth plans. She lives in McMinnville with her husband and 2 children.
